Nepal Plastic Surgery Hospital is the fifteen bedded plastic and reconstructive surgery hospital located in Hattiban, Harisiddhi, Lalitpur, Nepal. The hospital is established to provide the plastic surgery services in the country. There are very limited plastic surgery facilities in Nepal. Moreover the poor people are out of reach to the services which are available in the country. The hospital provides all types of Plastic and Reconstructive, Cosmetic, Laser and Hair Transplantation surgical services to the people.

The people in most of the villages are practicing open fire cooking. Burn is very common in those societies due to this type of cooking. Small children are left alone to play in the kitchen and very likely to get burnt. Burn people are left open without treatment to get the Contractures in the future. Even after the contracture many patients are not getting any access to the treatment. The people are disfigured with the burn contractures. The aim of the hospital is to treat all the patients who get burn and to provide care after burn. The hospital can serve as a burn institute in the country in future as there is not any specialized burn center in Nepal.

The hospital also provides treatment for the people with congenital facial deformities like cleft lip and cleft palate. There are few organizations that are helping to treat these cases albeit not enough. The treatment is free for the Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate patients.

People are living with big defective wounds. The numbers of Road Traffic Accidents are increasing in urban areas and the defective wounds due to the accidents are very common. Defective Wounds due to fall are very common in village people. Bed sores are common in Paraplegic patients. Most of the bed sores patients are young paraplegic in the country. They become paraplegic after several types of trauma. Added to this the burn patients and the patients with the debilitating diseases can easily develop Bed Sores. Our aim is not only to close the wounds but to provide them the education to take care of them and also to bring them back to some kinds of work.

Similarly we also treat all other kinds of Congenital Facial anomalies and Congenital Anomalies of the Limbs.

Plastic surgery will not complete without doing aesthetic surgeries. Our professionals are equally efficient to perform most of the cosmetic surgeries like Blepharoplasty, Rhinoplasty, Face Lift, Otoplasty, Augmentation Mammoplasty, Reduction Mammoplasty, Gynaecomastia Surgery, Mastopexy, Abdominoplasty, Scar Revision, Tattoo Removal, Mole Excision, Botox and Filler Treatment for the Wrinkles.

AIMS of Nepal Plastic Surgery Hospital

•To provide comprehensive, high quality, low cost or often free plastic and reconstructive surgery services to the people.

•To provide high quality cosmetic surgeries from highly specialized personnel

•To develop the hospital as a Plastic Surgery Institute.

•To establish an effectively working, self-sustainable and long lasting hospital by transferring medical and technical knowledge.
•To organize operations and check-up camps in rural areas in order to increase public awareness and to educate the people and also to perform the operations as it will be difficult often for the patient to come to the center from the rural villages.
•To improve the overall plastic and reconstructive situation of the country.

TO PERFORM SURGICAL CAMPS

Our surgical camp is fully run by Nepalese Plastic Surgeon, Anesthetist, Nurses, Volunteers and administrator. We always appreciate to involve the foreign volunteer doctors and other members in the camp. The camp is usually organized in the rural areas that lasts for about 2-3 weeks and assisted by the local doctors or other local health staffs.

We are looking forward to the financial support from the organization or from any interested volunteers to give the continuity of our surgical camps. The treatment in the camp is free for the patients. This is not always possible to run alone by the hospital and always needs the support. The donation money will be used to buy the materials and medicines needed in the operation. We also welcome people to donate medical equipments and medicines.

Most of the surgeries are performed in the local areas; however, the patients who need complicated surgeries are usually referred to the hospital. They fall into severe burns, major burn contractures, cleft palate, major congenital deformities. We usually do cleft lip in the camp.

There is always difficult to select the locations for the camp. Medically deprived areas are our first priority. Plastic surgery is known very little in Nepal. The people in rural areas are not able to receive any type of plastic surgery services. Similarly the other criteria are the accessibility. Many people are unable to get the service because of the poor access due to difficult terrain of most of the rural areas. Poor socioeconomic conditions, lack of education are other factors which make the situation more difficult to obtain the health facilities.

We can also provide general surgical check-ups in the camp so that people will get benefit from our expert surgeons and other medical staffs.

We had recently conducted one plastic surgery camp in Chitwan District along with the foreign volunteer doctors. Please refer to our Photo Gallery.
